CSE Option in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) offers a CSE Option in the Ph.D. degree program. Students electing the CSE Option are expected to satisfy all regular requirements for graduate study in ChBE. A student will normally be able to satisfy the requirements for the CSE Option by taking elective courses within the ChBE graduate program.
Ph.D. Program
For the Ph.D. in ChBE with the CSE Option, the following additional requirements must be satisfied: sixteen hours of course work must be from CSE courses, with at least eight of those hours from CSE core courses. The Ph.D. thesis must have a significant computational component, and the thesis committee must include at least one CSE-affiliated faculty member from a department other than ChBE.
